"A wire apart" banner photo-shoot, with Sarah Holmes and Bado Redi
“A wire apart” a work in progress by Sarah Holmes and Bado Redi, Paper Doll Militia.
Sarah offered me a collaboration to create a banner for their work in progress, so I agreed on sharing my time with them to create some new photographs for their performance publicity.
A Wire Apart is a modern love story set in the surreal environment of our digitally connected world. Distanced by a world of wires, two lost individuals work on finding each other, but in doing so must first find themselves.
Using dance, physical theatre, tight-wire walking and original music, A Wire Apart explores the impact modern communication has on our mental health and ability to connect authentically with one another. (text extracted from: http://www.paperdollmilitia.com)
we had a magnificent space to work at, extra high ceilings, black out curtains all around the rehearsal space. it was Just the ideal space to work at.
When working with Sarah and Balazs was so straight forward and dynamic, their workflow and tema work is fantastic. Their poses were very strong and adequate, I barely had to correct anything. So I could focus on the lighting and the composition. Unfortunately I didn’t have an assistant, but our ideas worked just fine.
Here the four best images that we took.
Here are the best final pictures that we selected together
